Youth And Confirmation

Confirmation is a privilege and opportunity for youth from 7th grade to 9th grade to explore what it means to be and to live as a baptized child of God.

Catechism instruction is a 3-year program of many facets.  Included in the program is weekly instruction that includes the Old and New Testaments, Lutheran traditions, Discipleship, the Small Catechism, and topics and questions related to living as a Christian in today's world.  Students are required to attend Campfirmation Camp at Lutherock with the Exodus Cluster (cost subsidized by the church and scholarships) during their first or second year of camp; and are required to attend, during all three years, Faith Alive Retreats at Lutheridge held twice a year that explore the themes of the Small Catechism.  Students are required to do sermon reports throughout the year.  Finally, during the summer before students are confirmed they participate in a week of instruction and review with the pastor.  Catechumens are confirmed on either Reformation Sunday of All Saints Sunday during their sophomore year in high school.
